Chronosoft announces new integration with what3words – Introducing BEACON

Chronosoft is pleased to partner with what3words and introduce Chronicler’s latest feature – BEACON.

We all know locating patrons in large sites can be complex. Utilising alternative coordinate systems, such as what3words, makes communicating locations much easier.

what3words has divided the world into 3 metre squares and given each square a unique combination of three words: a what3words address. Now, people can communicate any precise location using just three words.

Often, the most difficult part of incident management is finding exactly where a problem or person is located. Beacon solves the problem of getting patrons to “describe” where they are by utilising the GPS in to their mobile phone.

Chronicler can send an SMS message to any mobile phone containing a special link. Once clicked, the link will trigger the user’s browser to collect the location of the phone.

The gathered location will be displayed on the phone and a button to share the location with Chronicler will be shown. Once pressed, thelocation is automatically uploaded to the system and recorded against the relevant jo

Furthermore, if you are using an alternative coordinate system, like what3words, we show the location using that coordinate system. This integration enables people to communicate their exact location in an accurate, human-friendly format.
